Description

Following the trail at a water mill place. I forget what it was called. Number two.

I never know what to put these photographs under. Miscellaneous is the best solution ever.

Vision
I'm assuming vision is the idea of the piece, which, in this case, would be a number two on a log of some sort in the grass. The two seems to symbolise the second, or, pertaining to two, which is quite comforting, because, who wants to be pertaining to three. The idea for the piece, following a trail seems to be prevolant in the image; the 2 is at a jaunty angly suggesting that one must follow the two with the 'jaunty angle's' trajectory.

Originality
Personally, I've neither been on this trail, nor seems a photo of an isolated number two on a log of some sort in my life. From my view, I would see this is very original.

Technique
The technique of this piece is not to obvious from first glance; all that seems to be there is a photo of a two, but in consideration, one notices the subtle blades of grass clouding the edges of the log creating a natural feel. Secondly, the technique of contrast is very well shown in the fact that the green of the grass contrasts to the brown of the log which in turn contrasts to the red of the 2 which finally contrasts to the green of the grass.

Impact
The contrast and positioning of the subject is great, though, the not very striking first glance lets it down slightly, however, this is made up for by the constant meditation on the subject. As well as that, the fact the piece is name deux lets the piece down, as the french language rather smells.
